The following student-athletes have been selected to The Washington Post’s 2023-24 All-Met team for girls’ swimming:
Swimmer of the Year
Andrea Dworak, Jr., Blake
The Wisconsin commit swept Metros and the Maryland 4A state championships, winning by a substantial margin in every heat. She dominated the 200- and 500-yard freestyle, setting a personal record at the state championships in both events. Swimcloud’s top-ranked junior in Maryland, Dworak hopes to compete at the U.S. Olympic trials in June.
First team
Addy Donnick, Sr., La Plata
A two-time winner at the Maryland 3A/2A/1A state championships, Donnick (at 51.08 seconds) topped her closest finisher in the 100 freestyle by more than three seconds.

Michayla Eisenberg, Sr., Flint Hill
Eisenberg was the top diver in Virginia, winning at Metros, the Washington Metropolitan Prep School Swim Dive League championship and the Virginia Independent Schools championship.
Sarah Eliason, Sr., Richard Montgomery
On Richard Montgomery’s first state championship team, Eliason was the anchor. The Brigham Young commit took home wins at Metros in the 200 individual medley (2:02.09) and the 100 fly (54.49).
Virginia Hinds, So., Bethesda-Chevy Chase
In her sophomore season, Hinds remained one of the more promising young swimmers in the area. A repeat first-team selection, her times rival those of other D.C.-area greats.
Amy Qin, Sr., Wootton
Qin was the only swimmer at the Maryland 4A/3A state championships to swim a sub-23-second 50 freestyle (22.86). The second-place finisher was nearly a second slower.

Alyssa Sagle, So., Battlefield

Madeleine Simmons, Jr., Walter Johnson
Simmons and Richard Montgomery’s Eliason consistently dueled in the 200 individual medley; Simmons won by one one-hundredth of a second (2:01.93) at the Maryland Class 4A/3A state championships.
Livia Venditti, Sr., Richard Montgomery
Venditti and Eliason propelled the Rockets to a Metro and state championship. The Brown commit consistently finished in the top three of her races.
Allie Witdoeckt, Sr., Trinity Christian

Witdoeckt took a massive jump this season, setting personal bests in the 50 and 100 free, the 200 back and the 100 fly. One of the area’s most versatile swimmers, Witdoeckt is set to swim at Pittsburgh next season.
Coach of the Year
Akshay Gandhi, Richard Montgomery
The Rockets won their first Metros title in a tight race against Walter Johnson. Two weeks later, they edged the Wildcats at the Maryland Class 4A/3A state championships. Gandhi bleached his hair, wore loud yellow-and-black outfits and did a belly flop into the pool after the win at Metros.
